June open Tap Room weekend: 8-9th from 3-7 each day. We have a private event on 22/23 and then we'll be open for the three day stint following July 4th - open the 5-6-7th from 3-7 each of those days. Come on out and see what's growing in Jake's Burr Oak Farm!

It's not clear to me if you're open the weekend of the 15th of June.

Hello Tom:

No, we're not open the weekend of the 15th of June. The only general public open this month is the 8-9th, and the next general public open is July 5-6-7th.

Those are hops! :) (top picture)

Can we look forward to more open days this summer??

Yes, that's one of the 250+ hop plants we're growing this year.
As to "more" open weekends, it all depends - we try to be open a much as possible but when it's just me and my wife running everything, it's not always possible to be open. Hope you understand - and can make it out when we are open!

Hello Farmer Dave,

A group of six friends and myself are planning to visit on July 6th, and will be driving from White Bear Lake, MN (approx. 50 minutes west of the farm). This is not specifically farm related, but being in the business of good food, would you have any recommendations of local eateries for a post-brew dinner? No picky eaters in the bunch, and all are open to a culinary adventure.

Thanks so much, and we look forward to the brew farm experience!

Hello Allie:

For eats around here, the closest to the BrewFarm in Wilson is Peg's Pleasant View Inn - solid tasty WI diner-type food. Then in Baldwin, there's a couple: The Phoenix http://www.phoenixbarandgrill.com/ and The Orchard http://www.theorchardofbaldwin.com/ - that's a start. Check in with me for more info on the 6th!

Dave: My wife & I plan to visit on Friday 7/5. May we set up our small pop up camper close by so we don't have to drive back to Rochester after
your tasty brews?

Hello George:

There's Glen Hills county park 1.5 miles north of the BrewFarm: http://www.co.saint-croix.wi.us/index.asp?Type=B_BASIC&SEC=%7B2130CE3A-2461-4E77-86A7-DE3A179FCD34%7D
Hopefully that'll work for your camping needs!
